Welcome the Year of the Ox!

It has been a long time since I last blogged. Anyway, the Lunar New Year is officially over as of Tuesday, which is the 16th day of first lunar month. A summary of the whole new year.

It was reunion dinner before and on the eve of Lunar New Year. I had so much food that my stomach was still bloated on New Year day. LOL!

Then, my whole family went visiting to parents, relatives and friends for the two CNY holiday. There were lots to eat and drink during the CNY season.

Last week was the birthday celebration week for my boy, Yu Hong. He turned 5 on last Friday. We bought him a birthday cake from Coffee Bean. We went to collect the cake just after noon. When the assistant manager opened the box for us to check the cake, we had a shock! The fruits on the cake were all over in the box while the chocolate with the wordings had broken too! The manager wanted to replace it with another one, but we had to reject her offer as the replacement was a pre-sliced one. It did not look nice to have a "sliced" cake for his birthday. Anyway, the matter was resolved after the manager got the production side to "make" another one. I collected it from the cafe after my work and in time for the birthday celebration at home. :D

He had a second celebration on the next day. He wanted to celebrate it in Hard Rock Cafe. He was very happy and excited after I made a reservation at the cafe. He started making invitation cards to family and relatives for his birthday "party". Actually, it was only a small private party.

His cousin celebrated his 8th birthday there last year. His cousin was made to stand on the chair with a cup of sundae in his hands in Hard Rock Cafe while everyone in the cafe sang birthday song to him. I wasn't there last year though. I heard the cousin was so "overwhelmed" that he had to rush to toilet after that. He had poo** in his pants!

This year, Yu Hong was also asked to stand on a chair with a cup of sundae and a candle. We were also afraid that he might be overwhelmed too. Well, he was "brave" enough to stand on the chair while the people in the cafe joined in to sing him the birthday song. Maybe he was more mentally prepared than his cousin.
